Hi Jacob Lopez! I see Ruth Fox mentioned yoga nidra too. Where I’ve learned the technique, they call it Vipassana meditation, and it goes deeper than what I described above. But as you said, labels don’t matter, as long as it works.

To sum it up, when you scan the body over and over again, you observe that every time you do it, you feel different sensations — which will eventually help you realize that the same happens in day to day life. And when you understand how everything is constantly changing, you’ll let go of attachments to objects, people, situations, and so on. It’s a long process, of course.

Also, after you practice for some time, you’ll be able to go beyond the surface of the body. It’s a complex technique that gives amazing results, but as I said in the article, you can only learn it if you take a 10-day course.

I took my first course in Spain, at Dhamma Neru, just outside Barcelona, and the teachers were fantastic. But I had a great experience every time, no matter the country. So I highly recommend you take a course if you want to learn more about it. Best of luck, Jacob!
